BESPOKE & REMODELLING
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
BESPOKE
The term ‘Bespoke Jewellery’ refers to any piece created by Brazen in line with a clients specific requirements, including custom designs or personalised versions of pieces from Brazen Studio Collections. Special terms and conditions apply to bespoke orders, and by placing an order, you confirm that you’ve read and accepted the Terms and Conditions outline below.
TIMEFRAME
We recommend allowing a minimum of 10-12 weeks for the creation of a bespoke piece. Depending on the complexity of the design, how quickly final decisions are made, and our current workshop schedule, the process may take more or less time.
During your initial consultation, we’ll provide a general timeframe and are happy to discuss any important dates or deadlines you may have.
Please Note:
Work on your bespoke piece will only begin once a deposit has been received.
If you choose to pause or delay your project at ant stage, please be aware that original prices may be subject to change due to metal price fluctuations, and we may no longer be able to guarantee the original delivery timeframe.
FINALISING A DESIGN
Once your main gemstone has been selected, we will begin creating your hand-drawn concept pages. Typically, we provide up to three design pages before producing a complete set of scaled technical drawings based on the final approved design. Additional design pages beyond the initial three may occur extra charges.
Upon receiving written approval for the design, this approval becomes binding. We cannot be held responsible for changes of mind after the manufacturing process has begun. Any significant alterations requested at this stage will result in further costs.
Please Note - All sketches are artistic representations intended to convey how your piece will be crafted. As each item is hand-fabricated, minor variations between the design sketches and the finished piece are to be expected.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
We regret that cancellations cannot be accepted for bespoke, customised or personalised pieces once production has started. If you wish to cancel prior to the commencement of manufacturing, please note that any deposits paid may be non-refundable.
Bespoke pieces are classified as special orders and, as such, are not eligible for returns/exchanges.
PAYMENT AND COLLECTION
Finished jewellery cannot be collected or dispatched until the final balance has been paid in full. The remaining balance is due within 5 days of completion, or upon collection, whichever occurs first.
REMODELLING
Remodelling is a wonderful way to breathe new life into unworn or heirloom jewellery - whether by transforming it into an entirely new design or subtly reworking it to preserve the original character while ensuring long-term wearability.
To assess your jewellery for remodelling, we’ll need you to bring the items into our studio or send them to us. This allows us to carefully inspect any gemstones or diamonds for signs of wear, damage or fragility, and determine whether they are suitable for removal and resetting. Please note that certain delicate gemstones, such as opals and pearls, may not be suitable for remodelling due to their sensitive nature.
RE-SETTING YOUR STONE(S)
While we take every precaution when removing and re-setting stones, there are inherent risks involved in remodelling jewellery - regardless of its age. On rare occasions, stones may chip, fracture, or break during the removal process. As such, all remodelling work is undertaken at the customers own risk, and we cannot accept responsibility for any damage that may occur during these procedures.
If a stone does become damaged and you’d like to replace it, we are happy to source a suitable alternative and provide a quote.
Before any stones are removed, we will always seek written confirmation via email to proceed.
Once successfully removed, your stones will be cleaned and measured in preparation for your bespoke design.
RECYCLING METAL
There are limitations when it comes to reusing your existing metal. We can only form wire or sheet from melted metal - it cannot generally be used for casting new pieces, as casting requires new metal alloys to ensure a clean and durable result. However, we. can often incorporate your metal in other ways, such as using it to create a new shank.
Please be aware that re-melted metal may exhibit slight surface imperfections in the finished piece. These natural characteristics are part of the charm and uniqueness of using your own metal in a handmade design.
If your metal cannot be reused in the new design, we can apply its scrap value as a credit towards your final cost. We will test and weigh all metal provided, and can return any unused or sentimental metal to you upon request.
HALLMARKING
All new metal castings are legally required to be hallmarked. If your own metal is being used - for example, in the creation of a new shank, band or wedding ring liner - the Assay Office will assess and grade the metal accordingly before applying an official stamp. In some cases, particularly when two different metals are used together, a part-mark may be applied to reflect this combination.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
If you decide not to proceed with remodelling a particular jewellery item as part of your bespoke journey, we can return the piece to you - provided no work has yet begun (such as stone removal or metal processing). Return shipping costs will be your responsibility.
Should you wish to cancel the entire project, please note that any deposits paid will be non-refundable.
As each remodelled item is made to order and tailored to your specifications, they are not eligible for refund.
Finished jewellery cannot be collected or dispatched until the final balance has been paid in full. The remaining balance is due within five days of completion, or upon collection, whichever occurs first.
Please note: We reserve the right to update or revise these terms and conditions at any time.
