Our studio is based on the ground floor within the historic ‘Atlantic Chambers’ building which you enter via Cadogan Street in the heart of Glasgow’s City Centre.
We kindly ask that studio visits are booked in advance. You can arrange your appointment here, with options to meet in person, by telephone, or via Zoom if you’re unable to visit us.

ABOUT US
Brazen is an independent jewellery and goldsmith studio which was founded in 2004 by designer and director Sarah Raffel. A graduate in Silversmithing and Jewellery from The Glasgow School of Art, Sarah has always been driven by a deep passion for design - seamlessly blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative techniques.
She launched the original Brazen Studios in Glasgow’s Merchant City, creating a dynamic space that nurtured independent designer-makers. It quickly became a vibrant hub for retail, collaboration, and creative excellence. During these formative years, Sarah received several prestigious accolades, including the Deutsche Bank Pyramid Award, the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust Award, and the NESTA (National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts) Award - recognitions for which we remain deeply grateful.
As Brazen evolved, it became clear that its true essence lay in bespoke jewellery design - working closely with clients to turn their ideas into meaningful, wearable pieces. This focus has allowed us to push the boundaries of design, combining expert hand-craftsmanship with creative adaptability and cutting-edge digital techniques.
Today, Brazen remains rooted in design-led thinking. Each piece we create is a unique blend of artistry and precision, tailored to the individual. In addition to our bespoke commissions, we offer our Studio Collections - a curated range of one-of-a-kind and limited edition designs available online, reflecting the full scope of our creative vision.

SARAH
Founder | Designer | Goldsmith
For Sarah, drawing has always been an instinctive starting point—a lifelong practice that continues to shape her creative journey. She trained as a designer and jeweller at The Glasgow School of Art, graduating with first-class honours in 2003. Since founding Brazen Studios in 2004, Sarah has remained committed to a hands-on, client-focused approach, guiding each project from initial consultation to final creation.
Every commission begins with a collaborative exploration of ideas, followed by the development of hand-drawn concept sketches and detailed elevations. Sarah provides expert guidance in gemstone selection, carefully balancing aesthetic appeal with technical considerations to ensure each design is both beautiful and enduring. Once the design is approved and modelled, she works with precision and care to transform raw materials into a finished piece, with every detail crafted to the highest standard.
GILLIAN
Co-Director
With a background as Events Manager at House for an Art Lover, Gillian brings a wealth of experience in managing complex projects from start to finish - even under the most unexpected circumstances.
Her practical, down-to-earth approach is matched by her ability to juggle multiple responsibilities - skills honed not just through her career, but also as a busy mum of two. At Brazen, Gillian is the steady hand that keeps the studio running smoothly. She oversees the flow of client projects, manages our website and social media, and keeps everything firmly on track.
Beyond her professionalism, she’s known for her infectious laugh—and, as Sarah’s younger sister, she’s one of the few people who can keep the boss in line.
NIK
Optical Diamond Setter
Nik is a master diamond setter who, in his own words “has been setting forever.” With over 25 years of experience, he has perfected his craft to a level of precision and artistry that makes every piece shine. Having worked closely with Sarah for many years, he plays an integral role in bringing her designs - and the work of her goldsmiths - to life.
Igor
3D Modelling & CAD Designer
Igor is a highly accomplished 3D artist with extensive professional experience. He has honed exceptional expertise in creating intricate, technically precise CAD models, specialising in fine jewellery design while also contributing to major film projects in CGO and 3D modelling. Throughout his career, Igor has collaborated with some of the most prestigious names in the industry, consistently distinguishing his work through a blend of artistic vision and technical mastery.
